#THEHERBANFARMACIE
We have partnered with Chakayla Taylor of The Power Plate to present “The Herban Farmacie”—a community garden.
Located on the grounds of Camp North End, we are inspired and taking action! By cultivating an open and welcoming garden space, we're poised and charged to help solve Charlotte’s food insecurity issues--particularly, the challenges experienced within the adjacent communities.
Tenants at Camp North End have reserved their plots. Good Postage, Black Moth Bars, Wily.
ABOUT CHAKAYLA:
Inspired by the vibrant moments of her childhood, Chakayla started “The Power Plate,” a spice goods business based in Charlotte, North Carolina. Many of the ingredients that she uses in her spice blends and herbal elixirs are sourced from her backyard garden. Her Black-Owned + Black-Grown business has successfully combined her love for cooking and gardening into a platform that inspires beautiful people who look like her to go outside and proudly interact with nature. Gardening is truly revolutionary, especially when Black and brown hands are sticking their hands in the soil, planting seeds, harvesting food fresh from the vine, and implementing traditional methods to cultivate a healthy, organic way of living for their friends and families.
